  • The Cherry County GOP will hold a regular monthly meeting on Thursday, August 18 at 7:00 PM at the Vet's Club in Valentine. A resolution to rebuke Don Bacon will be discussed.

  • A soup and dessert fundraiser and auction will be held for Briana Eilmes, the daughter of Mike and Cheryl Eilmes, on Sunday, August 21 at 11:00 AM at the Gordon American Legion. The Auction starts at 1:00 PM. Items can be donated for the auction at the Gordon Senior Center or Husker Auto Parts.

  • The Cherry County Boad of Commissioners will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, August 23 at 1:00 PM in the Commissioners Meeting Room at the Cherry County Courhouse in Valentine. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct a budget workshop and address any other business that may come before the board.

  • The Northwest Rural Public Power District Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, August 25 at 1:00 in the Conference Room at the NWRPPD office in Hay Springs.

  • A free car show and shine will be held at Sunset Park in Hay Springs on Saturday, August 27 as part of the Hay Springs Friendly Festival. Registration is at 11:00 AM and awards will be presented at 2:00 PM. Call Shannon at 308-430-1168 for more information.

  • A Country Gospel Jamboree will be held on Sunday, August 28 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Chadron Senior Center.

  • A Cherry County Commissioners meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 30 at 10:00 AM in the Commissioners Meeting Room at the Cherry County Courthouse in Valentine.

  • A Food Bank of the Heartland Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Gordon American Legion starting at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 30. There's no need to bring boxes. Volunteers will load the food into your vehicle. Any household in need is welcome to attend and get food from the mobile pantry.

  • The Middle Niobrara NRD and Nebraska Department of Natural Resources will hod a public hearing on Thursday, September 1 at 9:00 AM at the MNNRD Office in Valentine regarding an amendment to the voluntary integrated management plan jointly developed by the Middle Niobrara NRD and the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources.

  • A Country Gospel Jamboree will be held on Sunday, September 25 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Chadron Senior Center.
